Special thanks to Baiko for providing the simply amazing vocals on the track! This track is moving with the feelings truly driven by Baiko's lyrics and vocal expression.

I like how this opens up with the contrasting tone of the guitars...I do like the swing feel of the drums, however, just a small complaint, the crash fills at the beginning might be a bit much, they're fine later on when the song swells to it's conclusion. Ok I think the vox are excellent, don't hear too many baritones anymore, makes me think of a cross between Leonard Cohen and Barry White.... overall this would work well as end credits in a film de jour. Thumbs Up

The music is beautiful, slow and sedate, vocals are full of sadness, and the lyrics are troubling and tantalizing, with a meaning just out of reach. This is a marriage of two wonderful talents, and I hope you two continue to collaborate. It benefits us all. Groovin Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Think I might have preferred the guitar tone at the beginning to have stayed as it was, or maybe have started with an "on the radio" tone to it, the morphed into the lovely start tone. Sort of Prog Blues track, I must like it, I've streamed it four times now :) (Smile) By the way, BlueNevus, I hate you, you're showing up us working musicians:D (Big Grin) Bowing Down

Another nice meeting of the minds. The intro almost lies about what awaits in the rest of the song which was a nice touch and sweetly got my attention. Clapping

Liked this from the very beginning, when it was the backing track, the vocals are great, they really remind me of Robbie Robertson´s first album produced by Daniel Lanois, great backing vox too. Great use of doubling and fx on the lead guitar sound. Great drums, I personally like the levels of the cymbals. Bowing Down

The intro has a Paul Simon vibe to me, but as the chorus guitar enters this changes quickly! Hmm I like how you play two rythms against each other when the drums enter, but I'd say the shuffle beat of the drums shouldn't go on on top of the straight guitar, as long as it does. Keep it short, is my advice.
the piano/string hits från 0.50 and on are very nice, and I even though I'm not a huge fan of the vocal style at first, I like how the voice gets all "Bowiesque" after a while.
Overall I like the mysterious atmosphere that this song has, but I think the mix needs to make this song express this atmosphere better. In one way the mix is a key to create the mystery and the atmosphere, but what I feel is that there are all kinds things happening: vocal layers enter, different sounds come and go, yet as it is now all of these little events in the song don't come out as effectively as they could. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what "I" then think should be done, but I somehow land on the conclusion that the mix should "even more" separate the different elements of the song. This can be done in many different ways, I know, but what I think is the common need is to minimize, what I now feel is an unbalance between the drums/bass on the one hand and the vox/other ambient sounds, on the other hand. So when I say "separate" I mean both to make the elements more separated from each other, but also by doing so, making them appear in a more balanced way. I would immediately try to lower the ride, hihat and crashes and go from there. If you let all of the atmospheric elements in the song feel less like they appear from a "well" somewhere deep down in the mix, I think they will be more effective in creating the atmospher I think that you're going for.

I like the sound of the bass, but it does strike some wrong notes now and then, and I was thinking it could be even more varied in how it's played. Towards the middle of the song you do get a little busier on the bass and that's nice, but I would simply like it to be more so even earlier, to work better with the drums.
The guitar has a decent flow in it, I'm not sure about the tone itself.
Overall, a cool mysterious piece that has potential to work even better as that!

LYRICS:

Road To Nowhere

Always a trouble in the way
Too many people on this side
Asking around, where this road leads,
but everyone's quiet on this rainy day.

Answers in silence do not stop them
They keep going straight, they're just going there,
To the other side, without hope...
Welcome to the road to nowhere

They've crossed the line
they've thrown away their lives
there is no more the sunny side.
They're in the void, they are going there
They're in the void, they are going there...
Welcome to the road to nowhere

Always a trouble in the way
There are no people on the other side
Nobody cries for them anymore
And everyone's happy on this rainy day

People are happy, people are happy...

First of all, very good composition- congratulations. Great chord progression. Nice vocal (in some parts it reminds me Alice in Chains). Good athmosphere.

Wowzers. The drums sound phenomenal. Vocals are dead on. That's a great voice.
